Summer Shakespeare Festival 2004

Premiere of the tragedy Romeo and Juliet new translation of Martin Hilský and directed by Martin Huba. Fresh, not well known couple of young lovers (winners of the big public casting in Prague and Bratislava) surrounded by popular actors from Czech and Slovakia (Emília Vášáryová, Bohumil Klepl, Miroslav Táborský, Marek Vašut). On the programme was successful Hamlet, completed by first-rate regional theatre (Divadlo F.X. Šaldy from Liberec with the play Twelfth Night, or What You Will directed by Jan Kačer), from USA arrived Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre with the original adaptation of Hamlet with real actors and big marionettes. As opening night was introduced: Fools, lovers and poets: evening from the best scenes of love and love confession in William Shakespeare´s work compiled and with his guests introduced translator Martin Hilský, directed by Boris Rösner.
